Any distinguishing features?: Generally, Feilim isn't an overly remarkable-looking gentleman. He's just about your average pale, slightly Nordic-looking Scot. 

What's remarkable is that he's really quite tall. At 1.87m, he's just shy of a metre above the national average in Scotland. He's generally well-built for his height, so generally speaking he just takes up a rather large amount of space whenever he's in a room. Slightly frustratingly, it also means he very often gets mistaken for his twin's older brother.

Feilim and his twin sister Felicia were in Edinburgh, the second and third child of Iollan and Reagan Chives. From the moment they were mobile, they seemed to do everything entirely together, kicking up a fuss when separated but always perfectly content to babble along in their own little world so long as they were left together. The bulk of their upbringing fell to their older brother Declán, four years their senior and well-aware, by the time they were brought into the world, that their parents would have little to do with actually raising children.

When they weren't quite thirteen, their brother was ready to go off to university--down in London. With little resistance from their parents, he took the twins with him, raising them nearly independently during his four-year undergraduate degree (their parents, although unable to provide proper emotional support for their children, were quite happy to stave off guilt with some financial support). As they grew, the twins decided to return to Edinburgh for their own university studies, and headed back up to the town they grew up in to start their own lives. 

Initially, the pair lived down the hall from one another in residence, but soon found they were wandering slightly different paths. Felicia was continuing to wander in the contented, lackadaisical fashion of their youth, while Feilim was starting to lose himself fully in the joys of academic pursuit. First he moved into a language affinity. Then she moved off-campus entirely. It was good, they both decided. Growth. Definition as individuals rather than as a unit.

But in the second half of their third year, they've found he spends most nights on her floor anyway. Currently an unofficial resident of Drummond House, Feilim will be moving back in with his sister as soon as the summer holidays roll around.
To what extent can your characters sense ghosts (if at all)?: Much like his sister (and nothing like their older brother), Feilim has a high sensitivity to ghosts, including their visual apparitions. He's always quite cheerful to talk with them, even on the occasions he figures out they've passed beyond the veil.
